I Need To Upgrade The RAM In My Shoe
The NY Times has an article on a new shoe from Adidas that has a 20mhz Processor in it. This along with a motor of some sort can adjust the cushioning of your shoe on the fly while running. It is supposed to adapt to the way you are moving as well as the materials you are running on….. right… Yeah, I’ll believe it when i see it, and for right now to see it you need to register with NYTimes.com. If you are worried the man might find you through such methods – be patient, I’m sure it will show up on the USA.Adidas.com site soon.
Small Round Cars: The Bug
This spherical Volkswagen Bus sculpture by Lars-Erik Fisk is pretty cool.
Stopping By Woods On Life’s Journey
Another great work by Robert Frost along with some insights into the poem that I wrote back in my college days.

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Dark Matter Still MIA
” Nature.com, PhysicsWeb, and the BBC all report on the latest results from the Cryogenic Dark Matter Search. ‘The most powerful search yet for the Universe’s missing matter has come up empty handed, contradicting an earlier study that claimed to have seen new particles.’ ‘A favoured theory is that the dark matter consists of Wimps (weakly interacting massive particles) about a thousand times more massive than a proton, one of the particles found in an atom’s nucleus… on the rare occasions a Wimp strikes an ordinary atom, the effect should be noticeable.’ ‘Writing in the Physical Review Letters, the team says that while a detection has yet to occur, there is now a better idea of how much dark matter must exist.’ They ‘hope to improve the sensitivity of the experiment by another factor of 20 over the next few years.'” — timothy (http://science.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=04/05/05/2039206&mode=thread&tid=126&tid=134)
