HondaJET

This ain't your dad's Accord… Honda has officially entered the light Jet market.  Honda which only a few years ago entered the aviation market by producing aero-engines is now going to start making the entire aircraft.

Don't expect them any time soon, however, as the FAA certification process takes several years.  But by 2010, you'll be able to buy a Honda that can really fly.  ;)

Ipods Cooler Than Beer

That's right among the coolest kids in town (college kids of course), the Ipod has — at least temporarily — de-throned drinking beer as the number one "in" thing to do.  iPods were rated as "in" by 73% of undergrads while beer and facebook.com ranked #2 with 71%.

Does this mean that we are becoming a geek-ier nation or that tech is going mainstream when a gadget and a web site are going toe to toe with getting sloshed?

Mac / Win Debate Heats Up

Well now that Apple has switched over to the "Intel Inside" camp, speculation has been running rampant over what this means for computers.  Many hope that Apple will start selling OS X (a highly polished version of Linux) without the mandatory Mac… while that would be "cool" – since everything Apple does is both hip and cool – don't expect it anytime soon.  While this could happen it is unlikely given Apple's control freak attitude towards its technology.  Maybe if they weren't making billions off their iPods and were desperate for cash, but not today.

On the flip side, ever since the first Intel Mac rolled off the assembly line hordes of nerds -oh sorry- geeks have been working feverishly on getting windows installed on a Mac.  Well the wait is over and we have a winner.  The folks at OSx86Project.org have succeeding in loading not only windows but the currently unreleased Vista version (coming to stores near you this fall or possibly next year – you know MS) of windows.
